Things I’m Loving Lately

March 26, 2013

I’m starting a new series!  There are so many items I come across daily that I quickly become obsessed with.  So, I thought I’d start sharing them with you.  Enjoy!

1.  Paleo Indulgences: Healthy Gluten Free Recipes to Satisfy your Primal Craving –  My husband and I wanted to kickstart a new healthy eating routine so we just recently started the Paleo Diet.  It’s pretty simple — All natural ingredients, no refined sugar, no gluten/grains, no unhealthy oils, and no legumes (beans).  The hardest part for us is to not eat breads and sweets.  Because I wanted to do this diet right, I got this cookbook to help me make different “breads” and natural sweets.  It’s amazing.  Truly, healthy, guilt-free indulgences!

2.  Target Yoga Pants – I live in Yoga Pants/Leggings.  Seriously.  Not joking one bit.  So when I saw these yoga pants at Target, I knew I had to have them.  I now own 3 pairs and I think I may go back for more.  They are the perfect fit and are super slimming.  Welcome to my new favorite pants :).

3.  Conair Instant Heat Hot Brush – Having a new baby around I really don’t have the luxury to take an hour+ plus to get ready.  I’m lucky if I get 30 minutes to shower, get dressed, put my hair up and go.  But there are days when I want to actually get ready and do my hair.  Enter this curling brush.  It quickly smoothes my hair while adding subtle waves.  A lifesaver, really.

4.  H&M Baby Clothes – {Other than the above Yoga Pants} I truly can’t remember the last piece of clothing I’ve purchased for myself.  I’m too obsessed with getting clothes for Baby Ezekiel, I don’t have the time to shop for myself.  My go-to places for baby clothes are Target and Old Navy/Gap, but my absolute favorite is H&M.  It’s literally mini adult clothes.  Everything I get for Ezekiel my husband loves and wants it for himself :).  Bonus, it’s not expensive!

5. Chef V’s Organic Green Drink – Almost a month ago I got really interested in juicing.  I wanted to try and do it myself, but with little Ezekiel I really don’t have that time.  Even to just go grocery shopping, it takes moving mountains to make that happen.  So I did some research and found this local green drink delivery.  Every week, they deliver 1 gallon of green juice to our door.  I love it because it’s fresh, super healthy, and makes me feel great.  This company is just for local San Diegans, but I really recommend to start incorporating some type of green drink into your diet.  Whether you buy it, or make it at home, it’s so great for you!

I have been eating gluten free for 7 months but haven’t hopped on the Paleo train yet. Is it a difficult transition? I think giving up sugar would be the hardest. The hardest thing for me about going GF was learning how to bake differently. Please keep us posted on how you like the Paleo diet and any good recipes you have to share 🙂
