Oreo Bark

It’s rare that I see a recipe online or in a magazine or cookbook and make it right away.  Normally I save the recipe and come back to it at a later time.  However, there are those times that I see a recipe, get up, and make it right away.  This was one of those recipes.
2 ingredients.
Really easy.
Extremely quick.
How can I store this recipe away for later?  I can’t.  And I didn’t.  I literally saw the recipe online (and I just saw it last week!), and starting baking right away.  If you can even call it baking?  I used a microwave for about 90 seconds and chopped up some oreos.  I’m not sure if you can call that baking, but hey… I created something tasty and that’s all that matters :).
Bark is one of the easiest and fastest treat out there.  It really is just melted chocolate with different types of ingredients mixed in.  You can really add anything into the melted chocolate – dried fruit, candy, cereal, cookies… anything!
In this case, I added oreos into melted white chocolate.
All you do is melt some chocolate, add chopped oreos, and then let it harden.
That’s it!  Now how easy is that?

Are you getting up to make these right now?  I hope you are :)!
On another note, I have some fun and exciting news…  My S’mores Pancakes were featured on Celebrations.com National Pancake Roundup on Monday!  Head over and check it out here!

Makes:  Approx. 10×10 Square, broken into small pieces
10 ounces White Chocolate, chopped
15 Oreos, Coarsely Chopped
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper, set aside until needed.
Place the chopped chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl.  Microwave the chocolate for 30 seconds.  Remove the bowl from the microwave and stir.  Repeat the same microwave-and-stir process until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth.
Once the chocolate is melted and smooth, let it slightly cool on the counter for about 5 minutes.  Once cooled, add the chopped oreos, leaving ¼ cup for topping.  Gently stir the chopped oreos into the white chocolate.
Pour the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet and spread is evenly until its ¼ inch thick.  Finely chop the remaining ¼ cup of chopped oreos and sprinkle it over the white chocolate mixture.
Place the baking sheet into the refrigerator until its firm, about 10 minutes.  Once it has hardened, break it apart into medium-sized pieces.
Serve and enjoy :)!
This bark can be kept in a airtight container or sealed plastic bag for up to one week..
It would also be a cute giveaway to place the oreo bark in small bags tied with a bow.
