Peaches are one of my favorite fruits. I love the juiciness and sweetness of them. However, it is so hard to find a good, ripe peach. They are so temperamental. I could go to the store one day and find the perfect peach. And then go the next day and all the peaches are hard. So when I find peaches that are fresh and ripe, I stock up. And last week I lucked out!
I love peaches fresh and I love them in desserts. Their juiciness and sweetness work perfectly in desserts. And when baked they become so soft and melt in your mouth.
When I started brainstorming a dessert to make with the beautiful peaches I picked up, I knew I wanted to do something simple. Something that would showcase the peaches and compliment their natural sweetness. I thought the perfect dessert would be a crumble!
A crumble is a dessert where fruit is topped with a crumbly pastry mixture and then baked. It is a simple and quick dessert to put together. Great for parties or a last minute dessert 🙂.
I had some gorgeous, plump blueberries on hand so I thought I would add those to the crumble as well. And blueberries go great with peaches because of their natural tart taste. The pretty blue color adds to the appeal of the dessert as well.
I made the crumble in individual sized small dishes. However, you can make this dessert is a large, family-styled baking dish as well. You can also substitute different fruits if you like. Really any fruit works well in a crumble. However, I would definitely suggest to try this peach and blueberry combination – they work perfectly together!
This crumble was both easy to put together and delicious! It has the perfect sweetness and appeals to many different tastes. This dessert really melts in your mouth… especially when topped with vanilla ice cream. Mmm!

Makes: 4 Servings
For the Fruit
6 to 8 ripe Peaches
1 cup Blueberries
2 tbsp. Fresh Lemon Juice
½ cup Sugar
¼ cup All Purpose Flour
To make the Crumble
1 cup All Purpose Flour
1/3 cup Sugar
¼ cup Brown Sugar
½ tsp. Salt
¼ tsp. Ground Cinnamon
½ cup (1 stick) Unsalted Butter, softened
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
To prepare the fruit, cut the peaches into wedges. Place them in a large bowl, and add the lemon juice, sugar, and flour. Toss the peaches until they are coated. Gently fold in the blueberries. Pour the fruit mixture into each cup or bowl (make sure the cups/bowls are oven safe).
To make the crumble, combine the flour, sugar, brown sugar, salt, and cinnamon in the bowl of a stand mixer. Cut the butter into 1-inch cubes. Add the butter to the stand mixer and beat until the butter is the size of small peas. Then using your hands, rub the mixture until you create big crumbles. Sprinkle the mixture over the fruit in each cup/bowl.**
Place the cups/bowls on a baking sheet lined with a silicone mat or parchment paper. Bake until the tops are golden brown and the juices are bubbly, about 40 minutes.
Take the crumbles out of the oven and cool until warm or room temperature. Serve with ice cream if desired. Enjoy 🙂!
**You can make these ahead of time and store them in the refrigerator until ready to bake. At this point you can refrigerate the crumbles.
