Light Brioche Burger Buns

April 14, 2011
When I told Steve I was going to make Burger Buns, he said, “Really!
Burger Buns are something that you never think of making homemade… But now that I’ve made homemade Burger Buns, I’m never going back 🙂!
These Burger Buns are sooooo good!  They are the perfect starting point to a yummy burger.  They are a light version of Brioche Bread, so they have the rich taste of Brioche, but are also very light in texture.
For such an amazing product, they were actually really easy to make.  The dough comes together quickly and the rest of your time is spent waiting for the dough to rise.
The recipe makes 8 buns, so if you don’t use all of them at once, you can always freeze the extras for later use – or use it for garlic bread, sandwiches, and much more!
This definitely is the perfect Burger Bun!

PS – A couple days ago I posted the Cinnamon Sugar Pull Apart bread.  You might have noticed an ingredient called Wheat Gluten Flour in the recipe – It is also in this Burger Bun recipe as well.  This flour is a great addition to any dough/bread recipe.  It adds great texture and elasticity to the dough and helps it to rise.   You only need about 1 tablespoon per cup of flour.  You can find it at most grocery stores and health food stores – I used Bob’s Red Mill brand.

Wait a minute. Is this like the Julia & Julia bit where you cook, but in your case bake, one thing everyday for a set period of time, like through the baseball season?

What ever your quest, it all looks good. Where’s the “Smell Here!” button?
